A shoot-out in a Christ Church neighbourhood this afternoon sent residents scampering to safety.

Reports reaching CBC indicate several shots rang out in Green Hill Close, Silver Hill sometime between two and three this afternoon, as gunmen fired indiscriminately through the community.

CBC also understands at least one person was shot.

Police were quickly on the scene investigating the incident. Public Affairs and Communication Officer, Inspector Rodney Inniss, issued a statement about the incident.
