Police are dealing with a firearms incident and a containment is in place while incident is ongoing.

This containment covers CYRIL JACKSON PRIMARY SCHOOL

Containment/cordons at:

NARROW STREET junction with (j/w) BARLEYCORN WAY
THREE COLTS STREET j/w MILLIGAN STREET
LIMEHOUSE CAUSEWAY j/w GILL STREET
GRENADE STREET j/w RICH STREET
ROPE MAKERS FIELD

This contains CYRIL JACKSON PRIMARY SCHOOL which has a north and south site.

Parents will be advised to collect children via GRENADE STREET, for NORTH site via RICH STREET, for SOUTH site GRENADE STREET via GILL STREET

Update:

This afternoon officers have been dealing with a firearms incident in an address in the Limehouse area and whilst doing so and in order to keep the community safe we put a large cordon in place. The cordon included a number of residential and business premises and Cyril Jackson primary school.

I am pleased to say the matter has now been safely resolved and the cordons will be removed as soon as we are able. We are sorry for any disruption that this may have caused.
